our story
Story Architects is an architecture studio based in Albert Park, Australia. We design renovations, extensions and new homes across Melbourne and beyond.
Led by Will, a registered architect with more than 12 years of experience across residential and commercial architecture. Story Architects was created to keep architecture personal, we pride ourselves on great communication, close collaboration and genuine involvement from the first sketch through to construction.
We have a strong interest in heritage homes and the relationship between old and new. What to keep, what to change and how to make the two feel like they belong together.
Our work is warm, textural and clean, but never overly polished. We like natural materials, strong ideas and homes that feel lived in rather than staged.
No signature style. No showroom aesthetic. Just thoughtful architecture shaped around the house, the site and the people who live there.
why choose us
SMALL STUDIO. SOMETHING TO PROVE.
Story is growing, and every project matters. You work directly with the architect designing your home - with fewer layers, competitive fees and genuine personal investment.
EVERY PROJECT COUNTS.
We’re building our reputation one home at a time. That means care in the ideas, the drawings, the details and how the design is carried through to construction.
SEE IT BEFORE YOU BUILD IT.
Detailed 3D modelling and visualisation let you experience the design early, test decisions and understand exactly what you’re building before it reaches site.
OLD HOMES. NEW IDEAS.
We understand Melbourne’s terraces, Edwardians and Victorians. We look carefully at what is worth keeping, then introduce contemporary spaces that feel confident without competing with the original home.
YOUR HOME. NOT OUR STYLE.
We don’t arrive with a predetermined look. We start with how you live, what matters to you and what the existing home is already telling us.

how we work
We begin by learning how you live, what works, what doesn’t and what you want your home to become. We look closely at the existing house, the site, its constraints and the opportunities that might not be immediately obvious.
From there, we explore. Different plans are tested, ideas challenged and possibilities compared rather than jumping immediately to a single answer.
As the design develops, detailed 3D modelling and visualisation help make decisions clear. You can understand the spaces, materials, light and proportions well before construction begins.
We then refine the architecture down to the details, coordinate the project and stay closely involved through construction.
The result is a clear process, informed decisions and a well resolved piece of architecture.
